Iranian Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering is one of the most experienced engineering groups in Iran, which has started its work since 1350. The association has been formed with the aim of recognizing the position of the geotechnical profession and its experts, as well as creating cooperation and coordination between them in the fields of science, work and research. The members of the association have been selected from among the experts and specialists who have graduated in the fields of civil engineering, geological engineering and other related fields that work in the field of geotechnics.So far, the association has taken effective steps in coordinating professional activities, drafting work rules, preparing regulations, holding scientific and technical conferences, publishing news and scientific journals, as well as establishing relations with domestic and international institutions active in the field of geotechnics. Iranian Association of Soil and Foundation Engineers (Geotechnics) is one of the old and active members of the International Association of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, which has maintained its relationship so far.
